Dr Lucy Watson is a Clinical Psychologist currently specialising in neurodevelopmental conditions within the private sector. Prior to this, Lucy worked for 10 years within the NHS, based in services such as: Great Ormond Street Hospital’s Feeding and Eating Disorders service and the Social Communication and Autism Service (previously known as the Social Communication Disorders Clinic), the Service for Complex Autism and Associated Neurodevelopmental Disorders (SCAAND) team at the Michael Rutter Centre, Maudsley Hospital and a local Tier 3 Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), with a continued specialty and interest in helping those with neurodevelopmental conditions, including autism and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
Lucy has extensive experience in the clinical assessment (including the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule – Second Edition; ADOS-2), neuropsychological (cognitive/learning) assessment and provision of therapeutic intervention (including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, CBT; behavioural and systemic approaches) for multiple mental health, neurodevelopmental and neuropsychological conditions.
Lucy feels very privileged to share part of the journey of many children, young people and adults’ lives, especially as her main passion is to ensure every individual’s voice is heard, and particularly the voices of those who may find communication a bit trickier than others. She is committed to helping others through the challenges that life is throwing at them and hopes together they can share some smiles and laughter along the way!
